Police are working on a number of leads and are said to have some prime suspects in custody. He was found dead on Thursday morning at Canefield Nursery School East Canje where he works as a security guard.He was lying in a pool of blood on a desk with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the forehead and another to the body.Kanhai was expected to testify in the murder trial of American citizen Ramdhanie Persaud called ‘Prackash’ or ‘Prack’ who is indicted on the charge of murdering his wife, Bibi Shameena Deen.Kanhai was previously ?before the court on a number of charges including one of knowing that Persaud was accused of murdering his wife, he received, comforted, harbored, assisted and mentored the said Persaud.The police, acting on information, had arrested ?Khanai at a farm at Bess Cut, New Forest, East Canje Berbice where they found one .38 Special Revolver, 23 -16 gauge cartridges and seven live 12 gauge cartridges.
