Police have detained a suspected carjacker and are looking for his accomplice after the men made off with a Green Ice Taxi service car on Thursday night after holding the driver at gunpoint and locking him in his car trunk.The suspect was nabbed near a roadblock after a woman who had telephoned the driver overheard the culprits threatening to kill him and contacted the owner.The owner then called the police and notified the other drivers who also mounted a hunt.Kaieteur News understands that the man in custody has at least three other cases before the court for carjacking.The driver, 28-year-old Michael Perreira, said that his ordeal began at around 23:10 hrs after a dispatcher sent him to pick up a male passenger near a nursery school in Stevedore Housing Scheme.Perreira said that he took the passenger to an Internet caf? in Campbellville, where the man remained for some time before re-entering the vehicle and asking to be taken back to Stevedore Housing Scheme.According to the driver, on arriving at the destination with the passenger he observed two men standing on the roadway.The passenger then said, “Oh shucks!
