Nineteen nurses countrywide benefited from a one-week training programme in Neonatal Resuscitation hosted by representatives from a Canadian charitable organization, Guyana Burn and Health Care (GB&HC).The training which was held at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation started last year. They had to use the computer to do their exams.Pamela Harakh, Vice President for the GB&HC said that the programme was overwhelming. She explained that the next step of this program will be to teach this year’s participants to be instructors so they themselves will be able to teach others and eventually, there will not be a need for an overseas instructor.Mrs. Harakh explained that her organization has been in existence for 15 years and started helping the GPHC in 2002 by opening a Burn Care Unit.
