The office of the Auditor General has reopened investigations into City Hall’s accounts and is expected to submit recommendations to the Minister of Local Government and Regional Development,Cheap Jerseys, Ganga Persaud,Wholesale Jerseys Online, by mid March.This is according to the Auditor General himself Deodat Sharma, during a recent interview with this publication.He stated that initial investigations were halted since vouchers to be examined were already being scrutinized by the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development.However, the Ministry has completed their investigations and the documents are now with the Auditor General’s Office. Sharma asserted that the Ministry’s findings would not influence the objectivity of his investigations.The inquest was requested by the Mayor and Councillors,Cheap Jerseys NFL, who were upset that the City Treasurer, with consent from the Town Clerk, paid incentives to the City Treasurer Department’s staff while neglecting to pay wages to about nine other staff members during December 2011.According to Sharma,Nike Air Max 95 Sale, the vouchers are being examined to determine if the correct procedures were followed in the payment of the incentives. The results of that investigation led to the dismissal of those two officers.Investigations have also been recommenced to ascertain what happened to the Council’s old incinerator (old smoky) located at Princes Street.Sharma stated that earlier investigations to determine the details of the old incinerator’s sale had ceased in order to facilitate investigations into a fraud at the Ministry of Finance.Councillor Patricia Green in a letter to the Auditor General had requested the audit of Council’s financial records to ascertain the integrity of the body’s financial records and what happened to the old incinerator in Princes Street.
